Whether you’re an audio enthusiast, a musician or a student of audio engineering, the principles of audio are the same.  But, some of us have more access than others to the information needed to fully grasp the art and science involved.  I was one who had the drudging task of having to learn on my own.  It helped that I was a musician with a father who studied the subject, but it was a long and difficult struggle to get to a point where I achieved professional results.  It is for this reason I’ve written this blog!
My hope is to bridge the gap for those who are on that same journey that I was, and in some ways, still am.  It’s also quite possible that others may benefit from the information presented here.  If only to gain an appreciation for the entire subject or; perhaps it will serve to aid in the choosing of one’s career.  While I wrote it to serve as a road-map, the work still needs to be done by the student in order to gain the experience required.  If you are blessed enough to have access to all the equipment and have plenty of material to work on, this book can help you with the rest.  There is some assistance here in knowing how to make purchases; as for the material, I started by downloading any multi-track sessions I could find online and I also made a hobby out of taking midi music scores and creating multi-track projects out of them.  Some decent instrument plugins helped with this.
The information presented here is by no means a comprehensive list of everything possible, but it is a deliberate thought exercise, which can bring intimate knowledge of pro audio topics.
Whatever your reasons may be for reading my online book, it is my sincere hope that it will serve as a tool to help you understand the world of today’s professional audio.

—Digital Audio—   The first topic when introducing someone to the world of professional audio would most certainly have to be the interface.  A majority of people out there have some general notion that anyone who wants to do mixing or song creation can just grab one of the many software applications out there and…
